Please Comment on the Articles, Here's How

One of the benefits of having a blog is that it is interactive. It allows you to learn about new issues or events, read other people's opinions on the articles and then express your own opinions. However, in order for this blog to be successful, we need viewers to respond to the articles by posting a comment.

The use of blogs is a new concept and can be confusing for new bloggers. So here are some simple instructions on how to become interactive on any blog:

After you have found an article posted on the blog that you want to comment on,
1. Click on COMMENTS at the bottom of the article
2. Then click on POST A COMMENT
3. Next type your comment in the box
4. Then select whether you want the author of your comment to say OTHER, ANONYMOUS, or you may chose to create a username and password.
5. Finally click on PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT

I don't see an email link on your blog, so I will do it this way, and just hope that you see it.

I am a fellow Oklahoma blogger (http://donsingleton.blogspot.com/), and I learned about you from the comment you left on BlogOklahoma (I hope you saw his response to your comment, and that to be listed in his blogroll you need to follow the instructions on http://www.blogoklahoma.com/ring.asp to join the blogroll.

I have a request to make. We refurbish computers at HelpingTulsa and donate them to schools, churches, non-profit organizations, and low income housing units. One of the images we put on them has Public Domain educational programs that some teachers helped us to select that are appropriate for grades 1-6. To see what I mean click here. I need to find some teachers that would help me to select some Public Domain educational programs for PreSchool and Kindergarten, and also programs for grade 7 - 12, so that I can expand our Children Image for all age ranges. Do you know how I might be able to find teachers to help me select good programs, and tell me what age ranges they are appropriate for? You can email me at donsingleton@cox.net

I am answering Don by email, but I'm also going to post here so that others will know.

I will let our staff know about this so that they can let teachers know about this opportunity. The refurbished computers come with some religious software, but it would not take much tinkering to make them o.k. for public schools (e.g., just don't run the Bible-verse screen savers).

I want to thank Kathy for passing on my request to teachers, and I agree it would be trivial for an administrator to select a different screen saver that would not include the Bible verses.

I note that this site does not have a TrackBack link. TrackBack is a good way for a fellow blogger to let your readers know that he found a particular article so interesting that he blogged about it on his blog. If you are interested in TrackBack see the FAQ, instructions on setting it up, and the signup page.

Glad that an experienced blogger happened by. Thanks, Don.

I am not sure how experienced I am. I posted my first blog entry in early February, 2005.
