Reconnecting Disadvantaged Young Men

By several recent counts, the United States is home to 2 to 3 million youth age 16 through 24 who are without postsecondary education and "disconnected" from the worlds of school and work (Wald and Martinez 2003). By "disconnected," we mean young people who are not in school and have been out of work for a substantial period, roughly a year or more.
